DSM Powder Coating Resins

Fred became acquainted with powder coatings in the early 1980's as a chemist in the research laboratories of Eastman Chemical. At that time he was performing research on new monomers for powder coating resins. Shortly after that Eastman made the decision to produce powder coatings in a new business unit, EVTECH Powder Coatings. Fred was a powder coating formulator for 10 years with EVTECH.

After that he joined Clariant in the Pigments and Additives group where he focused on additives for coatings. This assignment included powder coatings as well as other coating technologies.

For the last 7 years he has been with DSM Powder Coating resins as a Technical Application Manager. Among his duties with DSM, the introduction of new, innovative resins for powder coatings, developed in the DSM laboratories in Zwolle, The Netherlands, is his favorite.
