New PicoDot™ Jet Dispensing System

EFD's PicoDot jet dispensing systems bring significant new capabilities to EFD's extensive
line of precision fluid dispensing systems. Because the PicoDot systems do not contact
the substrate, they will enable manufacturers to deposit controlled amounts of fluid on
hard-to-access areas, uneven surfaces, or in applications where a conventional dispensing
needle cannot be used--at speeds up to 150 dots per second.

IBM pixMove Over IBM: A New Age Is Dawning

During a recent meeting of the ASSEMBLY staff, a lively debate was sparked by the question: "What is it that U.S. manufacturers still do better than companies anywhere else in the world?" One of our answers: high-end mainframe computers.

Well, to steal a line from college football analyst Lee Corso, "Not so fast, my friend!" It looks as though U.S. stalwarts like IBM, Dell and Sun now have some formidable competition. On Sept. 16, a supercomputer that can perform 160 trillion operations per second rolled off the assembly line at Dawning Information Industry Co. Ltd. in Tianjin.

With an innovative energy-saving design, the Dawning 5000A consumes 700 kilowatts per hour, which is significantly less than most supercomputers. VIEW STORY

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT

Dymax ACCU-CAL 50V Visible Radiometer ACCU-CAL™ 50V Visible Radiometer Provides Periodic Monitoring of Visible Light Ensuring Consistent Curing

The ACCU-CAL™ 50V radiometer is simple to operate and offers repeatable measurement of visible light. The DYMAX ACCU-CAL 50V measures visible light energy emitted from lightguides (3 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm), flood systems, and conveyors.

With a spectral sensitivity from 395 to 465 nm, the ACCU-CAL 50V measures intensities from 1 mW/cm2 to 40 W/cm2.
Dymax PVA Curing Gasket 2Moisture-Resistant Gasketing Resin for Plastics Cures Tack-Free in Seconds

Light Weld® GA-140 silicone-free, cure-in-place gasket resin cures completely in seconds, up to 1/4" thick beads, upon exposure to UV/Visible light. Developed for applications requiring low compression set, DYMAX GA-140 provides a barrier to prevent absorption or penetration of air, dust, moisture, liquids, and gaseous substances and can be dispensed into intricate and complex configurations.
Dymax 3220-SC Plastic Bonding AdhesiveAdhesive with Color Transition Technology Bonds Clear Engineering Plastics Fast and Enables In-Line Inspection

DYMAX 3220-SC adhesive , formulated with See-Cure™ technology, enables manufacturers to know precisely how much adhesive has been dispensed and when it's cured. 3220-SC's bright blue color is highly visible on substrates. The color transitions from blue to clear in seconds when exposed to high-intensity UV/Visible light, enabling verification of cure. 3220-SC bonds well to flexible and rigid plastics including PC, PVC, PU, ABS, PET, and PS.
