Howard has been in the HVAC industry for over 40 years, and has been a manager of engineering and estimating, building automation systems, and facility management services for more than 30 years. He has won several energy-engineering awards for projects that he was directly responsible for. 
Since 1992, McKew has written the monthly "Tomorrow's Engineer" and "Back to Basics" columns, featured in Engineered Systems. He also wrote the book "Managing People in The HVAC/R Industry", published by Business News Publishing Company and co-writes the e-commerce book, "Process, Project, Profits-A Practitioner's Guide To the Building Industry" published by BuildingSmartSoftware.com.
